A Very HST Saturday

If you're looking for the giveaway...

This is how I spent my Saturday morning.

You might recall that I ordered another half yard of Kona Sage. This is why I could combine every shade with it at least once.

One fat quarter yields twelve 5'' squares but there were 23 fat quarters in my bundle. So with another 24 out of my half yard and excluding sage/sage, I had 14 spare sage squares left to pair off. Tough decisions had to be made.

I picked the bottom ones and have now total number of 72 out of 300 HSTs.

Happy sewing!

Disclaimer: Like the first time I tried them, I made my HSTs following the tutorial over here but as my pictures show, I'm even lazier and not only didn't draw three lines but also chainpieced them twice.

Linking up with Show and Tell Tuesday over at Randi's.

  3. Very pretty! And I only ever draw one line, then stitch 1/4 inch on either side, and I chain piece! So we are not lazy, but efficient!

  4. Interesting colors, and there's nothing wrong with chain piecing to speed things up. After all, there are plenty of other quilts to be made.
