W.i.P. - Vikings 2.0

With my purse out of the way I had a little time to work on the Viking baby quilt. I settled for none of the earlier layout attempts. Instead this is what I came up with for the square base.

Then I added borders, first more fish and then the Viking guards and another HST.

Finally, I added orange borders all around to finish the top. I've decided to use the blue crosshatch print for the binding.

The fabric collection has an awesome Viking World map print which I'll be using as a backing, along with some more Viking guards.

I've yet to make up my mind whether I'll add another guard border on the bottom or on the side as I've done with the top. The pictures really don't do the quilt justice and I hope to get some better shots when it's finished. It might be my absolute favourite so far, I'm terribly in love with it and thankful that it'll go to the little one of dear friends - or I couldn't bear parting with it.
